I was trying to convince myself more than them.
I’d rattle through the reasons in my head:

▶ “My pay is great!”
▶ “I should be grateful”
It was overwhelming trying to think about what else I could do.
So I didn’t.
Before I knew it, another year had passed, and I had changed nothing.
